Recontextualised Packaging

The brief for this assignment was to find an existing package of my choice and recontextualise the package, retaining only the shape/design of the package. This required opening the package and examining how the package was designed, cut and folded.
This was followed by deciding what product to use the packaging for and then begin working on the graphics to suit the package and the new product.
I chose a package that was originally for a Philips circular fluorescent tube. It immediately caught my eye because of the various shapes and cutouts, it looked a bit more challenging to work with that a simple box.
One of the most challenging parts was deciding what new product to use as it needed to be something that would fit in the package, so it needed to be a circular item the exact same size or something flexible that could be made to fit.
I decided to recontextualise the packaging for a range of skipping ropes, something flexible enough to be made to fit.
